Redefining Education: Harnessing AI for Cognitive Growth

Thursday 27 November 2025: 12.00pm–1.30pm AEST
Council Chamber, RMIT, 124 La Trobe Street, Melbourne, 3000

The EU Centre of Excellence at RMIT is delighted to invite you to attend a lecture by the Ms
Kristina Kallas, Minister of Education and Research of Estonia.

As AI accelerates change, education faces a critical challenge: adapt wisely or risk falling
behind. Estonia’s AI-Leap (TI-Hüpe) is a bold response, embedding AI literacy and training in
higher cognitive processes into schools to prepare learners for an AI-driven world.

Our speaker, Minister Kallas, has become a significant voice in the EU on Artificial Intelligence
and its effects on education and research. She will explore these issues, and implications for
partnerships with Australia.

Dr Kristina Kallas is a distinguished Estonian politician, political scientist, and educator,
serving as Estonia’s Minister of Education and Research since April 2023. She has worked in
a variety of positions in Estonian universities and has been an adviser on education and
integration policy in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova. She is a founding member of the Eesti
200 political party, chairing it between and 2018-2022 and since August 2024.

Please join us. You can register by return mail to Professor Bruce Wilson, at

Presented by the EU Centre of Excellence and Social Equity Research Centre at RMIT University and cofunded by the Jean Monnet Activities Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. Project number: 101176871 —
