Applicants should include a two-page description of the proposed research that identifies a clear link between the project and research expertise and/or facilities at the European University Institute, a two-page CV, and academic transcripts for postgraduate applicants.
The most successful applicants are generally those that can identify a clear link between the EUI and their own research program including, but not limited to, synergies between a faculty mentor there and their own research (including any discussions with faculty at EUI), EUI or local archives, or other key research opportunities from being in Italy or Europe. It is not necessary to identify these things to be successful, but they do tend to make applications stand out.
